A bunny silhouette on a piece of cardboard made with rainbow pastel yarn.

Yarn or Paper Silhouette Bunny Craft

Add a touch of whimsy to your Easter or springtime decorations with this cute bunny silhouette craft. Pastels are a sweet and soft way to capture the charm of a fluffy spring bunny. This bunny craft not only adds a touch of magic to your seasonal decorations but also provides a fantastic opportunity for children to enhance their fine motor skills.

You will need:
Yarn or Construction Paper
Scissors
Tape
Cardstock

For the frame, I used:
Cardboard
Modge Podge
Glitter – I used Treehouse Neon Orange 1/24 glitter but I can’t seem to find it anymore.
Paint Sponge
Hot Glue Gun

Directions:

1. Cut out the bunny. Make sure to not cut the edges of the paper.

2. I had Miss 4 cut 7 inch pieces of pastel yarn and place them onto another full sheet of cardstock. This was an awesome teaching opportunity about how to measure. When we felt there was enough yarn, we taped the edges to the paper.

You can use construction paper instead of yarn. We did this in our homeschool preschool class and the kids loved it!

3. Now, you can lay your bunny on top. I flipped the paper over so no black from the template was showing.

4. Then, hot glue the edges of the template onto the full sheet of cardstock. You can also use tape or a stapler to hold them together.

You could stop here or make some kind of pretty border (maybe a pastel washi tape?).

I wanted to make a frame so I took a large piece of cardboard and cut a rectangle 1/2 inch larger than the cardstock. Then, I cut out a rectangle 1/2 inch smaller than the cardstock.

This gave me a cardboard frame. I painted it pink, painted over that with glitter modge podge and added a pretty orange glitter. Finally, I hot glued the bunny to the frame.

I just love how cute this turned out and can’t wait to set it up with our Easter decorations! This was a super fun and easy Easter craft that Miss 4 and I really enjoyed!
