The Greatest Bath Toys Ever
The search for a fun, engaging bath toy has been TOUGH. The toys are usually boring and unsatisfying – like the “swimming” ducks that don’t actually swim or the boats that float sideways. The rest get mold ridden and gross. Sure ducks are fun and squirt water, but my kids are fairly over them and foam letters don’t keep them busy long anymore either.
For Christmas, the kids got a Yookidoo Spin N Sort Spout With Gears, a Boon Cogs Gear Set and Boon Building Bath Pipes. Let me tell you, THE SEARCH IS OVER! My 1 and 4 year old LOVE these toys. We added The Best Natural Bubble Bath Ever (a wonderful stocking stuffer that actually makes bubbles!) and finally bath-time turned into a fun and exciting “chore.”
The Spout comes with cups that stack and spray water out the bottom. Miss 4 kept filling one and dumping it on her brother. They both got a kick out of it.
Mr. 1 is always standing up to turn the water on. It gives me a mini heart attack every time and I find myself constantly raising my voice to stop him. When Miss 4 was about 18 months, she fell in the tub while having a temper tantrum. I was standing right next to her and she still managed to hit her mouth on the side of the tub and break her 4 front teeth. So, now I’m paranoid and I seriously needed a toy to keep them busy and seated.
The Spout is perfect. They get to play with running water without having to stand up to get it. If you put your finger where the water comes out, it sprays up like a sprinkler which, of course, they love.
The Spout, Boon gears and Boon pipes work great together. There is a purple Boon gear that spins like a water wheel when the Spout is pouring on it. Super cool! Miss 4 figured out how gears work and Mr. 1 likes to make them spin. You can line the pipes accordingly to make a path for the water and use the spout to fuel it. These have made tub-time MUCH easier and a lot more fun for the babes.
