Simple Tomato Marinara Sauce
A simple tomato sauce that can be used for many dishes. Great for pizza, pasta, as a dip and more! This sauce is delicious and easy to make.

Tomato Puree

Crushed Tomatoes with basil

fine chopped
Onions

Minced Garlic

Red Wine
Cabernet Souvignon or Merlot

Olive Oil

Instructions
Put a large sauce pan on medium heat. Add olive oil.
Add garlic and onion. Sweat for 1 minute.
Add wine. Reduce by half.
Add tomato puree and crushed tomatoes. Add water. I like to use the cans to add water so I get all of the tomato.
Add basil, sugar, black pepper and salt.
Simmer for 1 hour on low heat.
