Learn To Read With EP Review

Disclaimer – I am NOT an affiliate for Learn To Read With EP. This is our personal, honest experience with the book.

If you are looking for ONE book to teach your child to read, THIS IS IT! My daughter completely taught herself to read with Learn To Read With EP. Of course, I laid the foundation with learning letter sounds first. Once she mastered her letter sounds, we moved onto this book. What a surprise that my daughter could read the whole first lesson in under 20 minutes!

The lessons start out with words that are easy to sound out. Each lesson has a group of words to practice before moving onto reading the sentences. As the lessons move forward, some of the focus words are sight words or names. I like to practice these 3 times through, or as many times as it takes them to easily read the words, before moving onto the sentences.

Here are some of my favorite things about Learn To Read With EP.

Establishes confidence quickly – Each lesson is short and written in a way that is easy to remember. The short lessons mean quick satisfaction and feeling great about what you have accomplished. It gives my children motivation to want to complete more.

Simple – The simple presentation and large, clear text makes it easy to follow along. It isn’t too overwhelming to the eye and makes reading manageable for beginners.

No planning – All you need is the book. There is no printing or gathering of supplies.

Phonics – The back of the book has a whole section on phonics. You can even start with the phonics section, or go back and forth, to understand the different sounds as you progress.

Good stories – I love the nature of the stories in Learn To Read With EP. Some story themes include animals, farm life, children playing, hard work, being a good friend and nature.

Effective – It works. It’s as simple as that! Both of my children have learned to read with Learn To Read With EP. I have watched them both conquer reading confidently because of this book. It’s amazing to watch.

Here is a video of my son reading lesson 6. This is his first attempt and we have only been practicing for a short time but you can see him work through it pretty well.
