Colorful Muddy Buddies
These muddy buddies worked so perfectly for our Magical Unicorn Birthday Party! I made a bunch of colors and used them to make Unicorn Chex Mix that is to DIE for! Seriously, our family cannot get enough of it!
You will need:
4 cups Chex Cereal
1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
4 cups Candy Melts (1 cup per color)
- Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt 1 cup of candy melts in a medium bowl in the microwave. Melt in 30s intervals, stirring often. Be careful not to overheat or allow moisture into the candy melts as they will seize.
- Add 1 cup of chex cereal to the candy melts and gently stir until evenly coated.
- Add 1/4 cup of powdered sugar to a zip lock bag.
- Add candy coated chex into the bag and shake until evenly coated. Sprinkle a little extra sugar if needed. Break up large pieces.
- Lay on baking sheet until dry. Serve as is or make a tasty Unicorn Chex Mix.

Ingredients
- 4 cups Chex Cereal
- 4 cups Candy melts (1 cup per color)
- 1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar

- Melt 1 cup of candy melts in a medium sized bowl. You can use the microwave to melt them in 30s intervals or you can use a double boiler. Be careful not to overheat or allow moisture in the candy melts as they will seize.
- Add 1 cup of chex cereal and gently mix until evenly coated.
- Put 1/4 cup powdered sugar in a ziplock bag. Add candy coated chex and shake. Break up large pieces to get an even coat of sugar. Sprinkle a bit more sugar if needed.
- Lay muddy buddies on baking sheet until dry. Do this with each color.
- Serve as is or make Unicorn Chex Mix.
